Enterprise Cloud Summit - Conference Overview
Monday-Tuesday, May 18-19, 2009
Enterprise Cloud Summit is the industry's only event focused on how traditional enterprises can adopt cloud computing models. Featuring panels of thought leaders, candid conversations with industry luminaries, and hands-on real-world demos that showcase the promise—and risk—of on-demand computing, Cloud Summit is a no-holds-barred reality check for enterprise cloud computing.
Explore four topics in the leading cloud computing conference:
Clouds and the Enterprise - Early cloud computing innovation has focused on public web applications, leaving enterprises with little to use beyond on-demand hardware. To understand what clouds can offer to enterprise users, we first need to look at the specific needs of enterprise applications.
Sessions include:
- Unique needs of enterprise applications
- Data models and EAI
- Portability and cloud/private hybrids
- Service Level Agreements
The Dark Side of Clouds - Every cloud has a dark side If you're going to make on-demand computing a cornerstone of your IT strategy, you need to know what you're getting into.
Sessions include:
- Legislation and compliance concerns
- Vendor lock-in and data portability
- Cloud-specific security vulnerabilities
- Risks that may undermine cloud adoption for enterprise buyers
The Business Case: RIO and Migration - What's the promise? Despite the downsides, there's little doubt that on-demand computing services are the future of both consumer and enterprise IT.
Sessions include:
- Adoption of cloud applications and what applications work best for on-demand
- Licensing and pricing
- Reviewing steps companies can take to leverage cloud computing within their organizations
On the Horizon: The Future of On-Demand IT - As cloud computing matures, enterprises will seek not only its economic benefits and flexible capacity, but also the advantages that come from always-connected users and powerful services that extend the capabilities of their applications.
Sessions include:
- Emerging trends in cloud computing
- Keynotes from three companies that are driving on-demand technology
- Panel of industry leaders speculating on what the future holds
